Chemistry Data Booklet for A Level

Dear JC1 and JC2 students who are taking H2 Chemistry, you can download the latest version of Chemistry Data Booklet over here.

This booklet will be provided in your Paper 1, 2 and 3 H2 Chemistry examinations (Subject Code: 9729 syllabus). You must check that you are issued with the Data Booklet before the start of your A Level examinations. Do kindly raise your hand and request for it if you discovered that it has not been issued.

How to use the Chemistry Data Booklet

The first section of the Chemistry Data Booklet contains the important values, constants and standards. The information is essential for topics especially Atoms, Molecules and Stoichiometry, Ideal gas and Electrochemistry.

As for the second section of the Chemistry Data Booklet, ionisation energies are provided. You will need these values for the topic of Energetics.

For the third section of the Chemistry Data Booklet, you are provided with Bond Energy values. These values are essential for topics of Energetics and Periodicity (Group 17 elements) to explain thermal stability of Halogen molecules.

Next, the fourth section of the Chemistry Data Booklet includes half equations for reduction reactions and standard electrode potential values. You will find these values useful when it comes to constructing overall balanced equations and in the Electrochemistry topic.

Important advice on the use of Chemistry Data Booklet

As a A Level H2 Chemistry specialist, I always advise students to have a copy of it printed out. With the booklet beside you, you will find it handy whenever you are doing your school tutorials or ten year series questions for H2 Chemistry.

More advice for H2 Chemistry students

If you are interested to know more, you can consider signing up for tuition lessons with me. I provide 1 to 1 as well as small group tuition for H2 Chemistry. You can contact me at 96517737 for more details. I do only have limited slots available for each year.

You will be provided with a non exhaustive list of the tips below.
1. How the half equations in the Booklet are being organised.
2. Highlight the half equations for commonly used oxidising and reducing agents.
3. How to identify the trend in electronegativity for the periodic table
4. The meaning of ionisation energy using balanced equation with state symbols.
5. The underlying assumption / condition in order to use bond energy values.

You can also view greater details of my qualifications and testimonials provided by parents and former students here.
