Achieving success with 1 to 1 H2 Chemistry tuition
Shout out to all H2 Chemistry students and parents looking for 1 to 1 H2 Chemistry tuition, my name is Mr Mitch Peh and I have been providing 1 to 1 H2 Chemistry tuition to JC students for more than 15 years.
I have worked with students across the entire spectrum ranging from struggling students failing in the subject to students who just need that little boost to jump from a B grade to an A grade. Through these experiences, I have witnessed the challenges that various students faced and have carefully devised well thought out strategies to help you or your child ace the subject.
Students who attained success for H2 Chemistry under Mr Peh
The strategies that I employ to help students level up quickly for H2 Chemistry have helped many of them attain success at the A Levels. This includes students who had been failing in the subject for their school promotional examinations and internal school assessments.

Strategies in 1 to 1 H2 Chemistry Tuition
1. I help all my students have their Organic Chemistry knowledge at their fingertips. Organic Chemistry is a section that many students taking H2 Chemistry find very challenging because there are so many reactions, reagents and conditions that they have to memorise.
I have devised a pedagogy to help students compartmentalise the Organic Chemistry knowledge easily and I teach it differently from how Junior Colleges and a lot of tuition centres are doing it.
Organic Chemistry is usually taught by their individual topics: Alkanes, alkenes, arenes etc. However, this method is not efficient in helping you see the synergy across the individual topics and many students end up being overwhelmed or confused.
2. To ensure students have strong foundation and concepts in each topic, I have prepared drill questions and quizzes based on common question types. For example, in the topic of solubility equilibria, I have designed questions tackling the 3 main question types:
(a) Calculating solubility of salt in water
(b) Calculating solubility of salt when there is presence of common ion effect
(c) Determine with calculation whether selective precipitation can be performed.
3. For Chemistry Practical, I have prepared a comprehensive Practical Guide with examples from past year prelims covering the most commonly tested topics: Volumetric analysis (Titration), gravimetric analysis, thermometric analysis, inorganic qualitative analysis, organic qualitative analysis, preparation of organic compounds and Reaction Kinetics. This will ensure that you will not go underprepared for the A Level Chemistry Practical examination.

A Level Solutions
To ensure familiarity with the current trend and difficulty of A level H2 Chemistry questions, I personally write out the solutions for the questions of the subject every year. This has allowed me to update my worksheets periodically, adding modified questions modelled after these A Level questions. Hence, my students are able to have well targeted and productive learning by working on these H2 Chemistry practice questions.
Below are some samples of the detailed solutions in pdf format for your reference.
