1 to 1 H2 Physics Tuition

Attention to all JC H2 Physics students and parents, do you know that H2 Physics is now more difficult and demanding? This is because there are major changes made to the H2 Physics syllabus as of 2026. Hence, you may want to consider signing up for 1 to 1 H2 Physics tuition early.

Major Changes to H2 Physics syllabus (9478)

1. You will now need to master new harder concepts of Capacitors and Wavefunctions that are added to the syllabus. You will require Math integration skills and trigonometric double angle formulae to solve some of these questions. On the other hand, relatively easier concepts of Potentiometer and X rays are now removed.

2. There are major rearrangements made to the content in the syllabus document. Past topics in the sequence of (a) Kinematics, (b) Dynamics, (c) Forces, (d) Work Energy and Power are now repackaged as (a) Forces and Moments (b) Motion and Forces (c) Energy and field (d) Projectile Motion (e) Collisions.

3. For Physics Practical, you are now required to be proficient in Microsoft excel skills, including the sketching scatter diagram, plotting of trend line, finding the equation of the trendline and area under curve. Previously, students are only required to manually plot the graphs on graph paper.

How will the changes affect the study of H2 Physics?

This means that simply doing the ten year series will not be sufficient to prepare yourself adequately for the subject. You may unknowingly do questions that are no longer in the syllabus. In addition, you may not have sufficient practice on content i.e. capacitors and wavefunctions that have just been added to the new syllabus.

Group tuition or 1 to 1 H2 Physics Tuition?

Unfortunately, attending group tuition classes may also not be very effective. This is because while schools like Hwa Chong Institution (as of 2025) are still teaching using the old sequence of topics, other schools like Dunman High School have switched to teaching using the new sequence of topics listed above. Thus, if you are attending group tuition classes, you may become even more confused when the sequence of teaching is not according to how your school teaches it.

Solution: 1 to 1 H2 Physics Tuition

Hence, if you or your child need help in H2 Physics, I would strongly recommend that you sign up for 1 to 1 H2 Physics lessons such as what I am currently providing.

Under my guidance, H2 Physics lessons can be customised according to the sequence of topics that your school is teaching. You will also receive ample practice on the concepts of capacitors and wavefunctions that are absent in the 10 year series. For Physics Practical, I will guide you or your child step by step on the Microsoft excel skills required.

If you are keen to sign up for my H2 Physics tuition lessons based on the new syllabus, you can contact me via Whatsapp through 9651 7737. Please do so early as I only have limited slots available.

A Level Solutions

I have written answer keys  for some of the recent A Level Physics Papers . This is because I not only want my students to know the answers to the questions, but also the thinking process behind them, pitfalls and common misconceptions to avoid. You will unlikely see the exact same question repeated in the A Level exams but you will likely require the same thinking processes to tackle questions from the same topic.

I would also want to  identify the difficult questions for my students, so that you can place these aside first,  focus on those manageable questions but yet you are having difficulties. After that, then you go back to these difficult questions and try them again. Remember that it is important to be exam smart, you do not need 100% to get your ‘A’ grade. However, you must be able to do the questions that an average student should be able to do, and maximise your marks there.
